The E31B Dependent Spouse KITAS is a Limited Stay Permit designed specifically for the spouse of a foreign national who already holds a valid KITAS or KITAP in Indonesia . This visa allows families to stay together while the primary visa holder resides in Indonesia for work, investment, or other permitted activities.
As a Dependent Spouse KITAS holder, you can live together with your spouse in Indonesia for the duration of their stay permit, with the freedom to travel internationally and return throughout your permit validity . This is the ideal solution for expatriate families who wish to maintain family unity while living in Indonesia.
Permitted Activities:
- Reside in Indonesia with your spouse (the primary KITAS/KITAP holder)
- Live together as a family unit in Indonesia
- Exit and re-enter Indonesia freely throughout your Re-Entry Permit validity
- Engage in tourism activities and visit friends or family
- Open Indonesian bank accounts
- Obtain an Indonesian driving license (SIM)
- Register for local services and utilities
Restrictions:
- STRICTLY PROHIBITED from working for any Indonesian company
- CANNOT receive income from Indonesian sources
- NOT allowed to sell goods or services in Indonesia
- PROHIBITED from serving as Director, Commissioner, or holding any position in an Indonesian company
- Overstaying is subject to IDR 1,000,000 per day penalty
Requirements
- Valid Passport
Minimum 6 months validity remaining - Financial Proof
Bank statement for the last 3 months in applicant's or spouse's name showing minimum balance of USD 2,000 (or equivalent) - Recent Photograph
One recent color photograph (taken within last year) - Marriage Certificate:
- If married in Indonesia: Original marriage certificate (Buku Nikah/Akta Perkawinan) issued by authorized institution
- If married outside Indonesia: Marriage certificate translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator (translation not required if document is in English)
